Bitchin' Banana Cake

My friend Hayley and I made the most amazing banana cake a few days ago. I can't believe it actually worked because we were missing some ingredients, so we had to improvise haha.

We mixed together: 

2 overipe bananas 

170g sugar 

170g butter

170g flour (was supposed to be self raising but we didn't have any)
We discovered that baking powder can be added to plain flour to the same effect - problem solved! 
But we didn't have any baking powder.
So we added about quarter of a teaspoon baking soda and half a teaspoon cream of tartar.
These were combined and the mixture was poured into a greased loaf tin. We baked this for about 40 minutes or so at 160 degrees celsius. Sorry for the dodgy quality photos: 

...and then we covered it with Cadbury Philadelphia 
It was great! 

Here Comes The Sun

With all the lovely sun we have been out in the shed more the past couple of weeks, yipeee!  Here are some new photos of 2 Screwz: 

2 Screwz Tramp Shack is twinned with our friend Evola's 1 Nail Studio, which I have just noticed has an octopus painted on one the walls! I'm sure he would get on well with our giant squid.

Northern Lights

Sarah is in Snowdonia this week so no jewels to report. As we're working on a few pieces at the moment we have reduced some things to make way for new jewellery!

La Lune

One of my favourite films ever, La Voyage Dans la Lune, has been restored in full technicolour 110 years after its first release in 1902, yay! A French electro group,  Air, have done the soundtrack. It looks beautiful!  Here are some clips ~

Christmas Market!

Hello peeps! For any of you in the Cardiff area we are going to Cardiff Vintage and Handmade Christmas Market and Santa's Grotto in Pontcanna on Saturday (December 3rd). We are expecting it to be busier than the last one so it's going to feel really Christmassy. To get you into the festive spirit there's going to be mince pies, mulled wine and a raffle and Santa Claus himself is even going to be there! Best of all, all of this is going to be for the charity Pedal Power, helping to make cycling accessible for all, particularly adults and children with disabilities.

Arts and Crafts Bazaar

We are going to be at Roath arts and crafts bazaar this Saturday so come on down to try stuff on and say hello :) our jewellery is so much better in person, the photos never really do us justice! We are looking forward to checking out all the stalls and starting our Christmas shopping!

South Wales Bloggers Meet

On Thursday 13th was the South Wales Bloggers Meet Up in St Davids centre which we were told about by Chantele of Daisy Days.
  We contributed some discount vouchers to the goodie bags given out at the event and donated a necklace to the raffle. We couldn't make it on the day but heard everybody enjoyed themselves :)

Sarah and I have both been ill the past week so there's not a lot going on really.  I've discovered a fantastic comedian called Robert Popper, I am practically crying listening to his prank phone calls.

More Jewels

We've been very busy this week making lots of new things which will be available in the shop for you shortly! We just got back from the Millennium Centre where we saw Swan Lake performed by Guangdong Acrobatic Troupe of China. It was great, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. We were completely drooling over the amazing costumes!

PIG Love

I recently commissioned a portrait of my beloved pig by the fantastic MimiLove and it arrived today! It's so so beautiful!

 She paints the most amazing pictures and actually stitches special details into the canvas; she describes herself as one woman, a needle, a paintbrush, a disturbing music back catalogue in her brain and too much time on her hands.
MimiLove is inspired by memories, misty watercolour memories, of the way she were, making stitchy, painty, musically, animally combo's for home n personal adornment.
